It is no secret that Blonde & Beyond is extremely focused on continuing education. You know, one things that really gets me is the fact that the State of Wisconsin doesn't require licensed barber/cosmetologists to obtain any continuing education credits after becoming licensed. In what industry is that okay? It sets the bar too low for our Future Professionals; the one's that someday will be doing your hair and my hair! There are most definitely ways that salons can help combat this low standard of post education for the future of this culture. For one, the salons can require their team members to obtain continuing education credits or hours throughout the course of a year. They can also bring education into the salon and help their team members pay for outside education. Salons can look into having Future Professionals apprentice through their salon. The downfall to this is the expense incurred by the salon. And, the Future Professional still needs to obtain so many lecture hours from a school. Quite simply, the salons can set the bar high for their team, and challenge their competitors to do the same. The playing field in this industry is so un-level, and because of this the service quality, and in turn the professionals and the guests suffer. Blonde & Beyond chooses to put first our guests and the quality of the experience that our guests receive. The only way to do this is to set high, yet achievable, expectations for our team. We do this through goals, training and education requirements, both in salon and out of salon, and modeling. We in turn are rewarded with the most amazing guests around!
